Mansfield Speedway Weekend Recap 🏁
It was a pretty special weekend for us at Mansfield Speedway, and one we won’t forget anytime soon.
We unloaded with a really good race car and started the night off by setting fast time in qualifying. From there, we were able to pick up the Heat Race 1 win and put ourselves in a good position heading into the feature.
The feature ended up being one hell of a race. We got out front and were able to lead 28 laps, but with two laps to go, Rusty Schlenk was able to get by us. We battled it out all the way to the checkered and came home with a 2nd-place finish. Obviously, when you lead that many laps you want to finish the job, but it was an awesome race and a lot of fun battling for the win. Congrats to Rusty Schlenk on the victory.
This weekend was about a lot more than just racing for us, though.
We had the opportunity to bring back the 240 tribute car in memory of Leroy Hall, which made this night incredibly special. We sure wish we could’ve put the 240 in Victory Lane one more time, especially after coming that close, but being able to lead laps and battle for the win with that car was something I’ll always remember.
I can’t thank the Hall family enough for allowing me to run the 240 again and honor Leroy in a way that meant so much to all of us. There are a lot of memories tied to that number, that car and the Hall family, and it was an honor to carry those memories around Mansfield Speedway one more time.
We came up two laps short of the ending we wanted, but sometimes a night means more than where you finish. I’m thankful we had the opportunity to do this for Leroy and the Hall family, and I’m thankful for everyone who helped make the night possible.
240 forever❤️🏁
Thank you to everyone who continues to support Kyle Moore Racing, our crew, family, friends, partners and all the fans who came out and supported us. We’ll keep digging and get ready for the next one👊🏼🏁
